The third "Lancang-Mekong Impression" Short Video Contest, organized by China News Service (CNS), was officially launched on March 27th as the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) mechanism approaches its 10th anniversary.
The Lancang-Mekong River, known as the "Oriental Danube," originates from the glaciers of the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau and flows through six countries including China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Being a geographical lifeline, the river also serves as a cultural bridge, nurturing the vibrant and diverse cultures along its banks, such as the water-splashing festivities of the Dai ethnic group, the early morning bells ringing in Luang Prabang’s Buddhist temples, and the vast rice fields of the Mekong River Delta, all of which are ideal themes for short video creators.
The "Lancang-Mekong Impression" Short Video Contest was brought to the stage in the midst of the flourishing development of the LMC. The first two contests organized by CNS have attracted widespread participation from short video creators, leading short video platforms, top MCN organizations, universities, and social organizations across the LMC countries, sparking immense creative enthusiasm and generating a wealth of high-quality works.
As the LMC mechanism nears its 10th anniversary, the third "Lancang-Mekong Impression" Short Video Contest invites people in the six LMC countries to submit their short video works. Participants are encouraged to create short videos related to the Lancang-Mekong basin (including provinces and regions such as Qinghai, Yunnan, and Xizang in China, as well as countries such as Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam), as a way to showcase the region's diverse natural and cultural landscapes and bring the authentic and vivid "Lancang-Mekong stories" to life.
